Parlay In Kōchi

A blending of several small villages on the southwestern coast created the current incarnation of Kochi (or Cochin), where sunset strolls, sampling fresh fish from seaside vendors and boat rides through the islands just offshore top visitors' to-do lists. Art centers showcase the traditional dance, Kathakali. European influences are seen in the 16th-century Portuguese-built churches and forts, while the mark of early Chinese traders is visible in the unusual fishing nets dotting the shoreline.

Hotel Nikko Kochi /Asahi Royal

Nice hotel, with good location - not too far from the town centre and with incredble views on the surroundings from the restaurant and the bar (what a view wonderful view on the mounts and river for breakfast).
Nice room and services. Good staff, however a bit limited in English sometimes.
The restaurant is great and even the little café on the ground floor worth to stop for a drink or piece of cake!
from $95 - $243 per night. Also Great prices

Myojinmaru
This restaurant is the greatest the food and ambiance is awesome, the service was very slow but we still had a good time, we loved it! Our choices for the evening were: sauteed mushrooms, cornbeef hash balls, seared ahi, ahi katsu, kalbi and garlic chix. All of it was yummy but I was disappointed with the service. Most places that I eat I usually get all entrees at the same time but our friends got their plates first and ours came 10 minutes later. So we all ended up just sharing our plates like family style. Another service point that upset me was the sauteed mushrooms that we ordered as an appetizer didn't show up until we were almost done with the entrees and they had to be reminded about it 2x! I commend them on all the available servers on the bar side checking on us but by doing that servers had no idea what table ordered what and it was up to the customer to verify if everything ordered was receieved. I would definitely eat there again but preferably on the dining side as their drinks are expensive, not unless you go with the $4 crown and stoli all flavors.

Wake Up To Breakfast In Venice.

Venice is one of Italy's top travel cities and a beautiful, romantic destination with many attractions. Its small, traffic-free streets along the winding canals make for great walking. You'll find many magnificent churches and palaces, lively squares, and interesting shops. Since it's near the sea, Venice has moderate weather although there can be rain nearly year-round. Summers are humid and winters can be foggy and wet. To avoid the large crowds, spring and fall are the best seasons to visit. Venice experiences flooding or aqua alta about 60 days a year, October through early January.Venetian glass, especially from the island of Murano, is a specialty. Carnival masks make great gifts or souvenirs. Venice is also known for its marbled paper and you might find some good lace here, too. You will also see many nice watercolors of Venetian scenes.

Gatto Nero(Black Cat)
Seafood is a big part of Venetian cuisine as are polenta and rice. Seppia, cuttlefish, is popular and risotto nero is a rice dish colored with its ink. Try zuppa di pesce fish soup here, too. Radicchio trevisano, red chicory, comes from nearby Treviso. Cicchetti, little appetizers, are found in the bars in Venice and are often eaten before lunch

Hotel Danieli Venice

There cannot be a better location in all of Venice, just a few steps from the Piazzi San Marco. We stayed in a luxury room in their newest building, the Excelsior. The rooms were handsomely decorated but on the small side. The air conditioning was excellent and my room was very quiet. The bed was heavenly, the most comfortable one I have had in a hotel in a long time. The rooftop restaurant has one of the greatest views in the world, but the price for eating breakfast here is very steep.(it wasn't included in my room rate).Staff were friendly and helpful, particularly the concierges. I will definitely stay here again. I have also stayed at the Gritti. If you are looking for a Grand Canal view you may be better off there as it will be quieter than at the Danieli. The street in front of the Danieli is bustling all day.

Wine&Dine In Barcelona

Miramar Hotel
One of the crown jewels, a magnificent historic building restored to be experienced in an exceptional manner: innovation and comfort beyond luxury. From our premises you can discover marvellous views over the city and the Mediterranean Sea, in a unique setting. Miramar Hotel retains the original facade of the old palace that Alfonso XIII opened on the mountain of Montjuïc, for the Barcelona Universal Exhibition in 1929. The area that was landscaped during the Exhibition, which surrounds the hotel and most of Montjuïc, was designed by Forestier and the vegetation consists mostly of Mediterranean species. In 1959 the building was the home to the Studios of Spanish Radio and Television, until they moved to Sant Cugat in 1983, at which point the Palace fell into disuse until its recent transformation by the architect Oscar Tusquets Blanca.

Cozumel, Mexico; A place to die for!

My trip to Cozumel Mexico was very exciting, I traveled there on a cruise ship that also went to Keywest and Miami in Florida, Jamaica, and Barbados. I learned about Cozumel’s currency which is peso’s, there economy, traditions, agriculture, and there geography and the people.

Here's a little bit of history from the country; Cozumel (Mayan: Island of the Swallows) (Kùutsmil in Modern Maya) is an island in the Caribbean Sea off the eastern coast of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, opposite Playa del Carmen, and close to the Yucatan Channel. Cozumel is one of the nine municipalities (municipios) of the state of Quintana Roo. Cozumel is a tourist destination for its scuba diving and snorkeling. The main town on the island is San Miguel de Cozumel
The Maya are believed to have first settled Cozumel by the early part of the 1st millennium AD, and older Preclassic Olmec artifacts have been found on the island as well. The island was sacred to Ix Chel, the Maya Moon Goddess, and the temples here were a place of pilgrimage, especially by women desiring fertility. There are a number of ruins on the island, most from the Post-Classic period. The largest Maya ruins on the island were bulldozed to make way for an airplane runway during World War II. The ruins of San Gervasio are located approximately at the center of the island and are the largest remaining ruins.
The first Spanish visitor was Juan de Grijalva in 1518 , and in the following year Hernán Cortés came with a fleet and destroyed many Maya temples. Some 40,000 Mayans lived on the island then, but the smallpox disease devastated them, and by 1570 only 30 were left alive. In the ensuing years Cozumel was nearly deserted, just used as a hideout by pirates from time to time. In 1848, the Caste War of Yucatán resulted in resettlement by refugees escaping the tumult. A plaque at the Museo Cozumel states that Abraham Lincoln as the American President came close to purchasing the island of Cozumel as a place to send the freed slaves. The continued war in the Yucatan caused him to change his mind.
There are two universities on the island: the University of Quintana Roo and Partenon. In addition to teaching English as a degree, they offer five other career options including natural resources research, tourism and commercial systems.Cozumel is part of the State of Quintana Roo (Q-Roo). The Municipality of Cozumel consists of the island of Cozumel (with its offshore islets) and two pieces of adjacent mainland surrounded by the Municipality of Solidaridad. They are Calica and the Xel-Há Water Park.
Festival of El Cedral in Cozumel
To this day a historic festival is held in the small town of El Cedral, in the south of Cozumel Island at the end of April. This annual event is said to have been started over 150 years ago by Casimiro Cárdenas.
Cárdenas was one of a group that fled to the island from the village of Saban, on the mainland, after an attack during the War of the Castes. The attackers killed many other villagers, but Cárdenas survived whilst clutching a small wooden cross.
Legend has it that Cárdenas vowed to start an annual festival wherever he settled, to honor the religious power of this crucifix. Today, the original Holy Cross Festival forms part of the wider Festival of El Cedral, which includes fairs, traditional feasts, rodeos, bullfights, music and competitions. The celebrations last about 5 days in all and are held every year at the end of April or beginning of May.
In conclusion my trip to Mexico was a good experience because I learned a lot of new things and have a different sight on this back at my home, in Mexico is not the same as the U.S. and our customs, they believe in different ways of life.
The Food...words couldn't explain, maybe its because I'm a big fan of Spanish foods. i loved the senery it was amazing its so different from newyork city; the beaches are just so beautifull, i dont think any other beach in the tri-state could top it.!
i would recommend this wonderful place to anybody! its so awesome, till this day ill still this cozumel is the best place ive been. and i basically have traveled the world!

Ben & Jerry's Icecream & Frozen Yogurt

Ben & jerry's is one of the best creamery's i 've been too (aside from coldstone)

A Crazy Concoction of Chocolate Ice Cream and Vanilla Ice Cream Mixed with Fudge Brownies and Gobs of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough!!!!

Brownie mixed with cookie dough...I honestly didn't know about how that this flavor would play out. In my mind I wasn't sure if the textures would mix; fudgey brownie mixed with gritty cookie dough. The top layer of ice cream was medium brown in color with fudge specks then marbling below the surface. The chocolate flavor from Ben & Jerry's never lets you down and the vanilla is understated in this blend. Nice large pieces of cookie dough (referred to as gobs) were in every other bite. The texture was comparable to the "Ready to Bake" cookie dough provided in the grocery store. I did not however find very many fudgey bits. When I did find one, it was very gooey and fudgey; very tasty. I was not impressed with the amount of brownie, but pleased with the amount of cookie dough. This flavor played out as "middle of the road" for me.

american Idol Censors Gaga's Outrageous Footwear.

'Idol' producers had to strategically place the show logo to cover the shoes' naughty bits. Her black leather boots, made by the British label Void of Course, feature a sky high platform and a pair of anatomically correct explicit heels. The show's producers had to strategically place the "American Idol" logo to cover the shoes' naughty bits. The heels aren't the only thing that's eyebrow raising about the shoes – the shoes reportedly retail for $4,500, according to TMZ.  Lady Gaga has been a fan of the fetish-inspired brand since 2010, when she was spotted in the brand's spiked, rubber ensembles. in my own oppion i think its original and different no one has ever thought about it and now everyones talking about it. it's the little things that make people see what fashion and differentially is!

Alexander McQueen's legendary Fashion Statements

Alexander McQueen, a British fashion designer, was found dead at his London home on Feb. 11, 2010. A coroner's inquest said he hanged himself in an armoire, on the eve of his mother's funeral, after leaving behind a note. He was 40 years old. Mr. McQueen was a showman with very high expectations for fashion. He knew how to cut a dress, a jacket and a pair of pants with the best of them, but that was not enough for him. He also wanted fashion to have weight and content and depth, so he put on presentations - spectacles, really - of his collections that aimed to have the punch of art and that were sometimes political, sociological, shocking and scary. ''I believe in depicting what's going on," he once said. "I'm a big anarchist. I don't believe in religion, or in another human being wanting to govern over someone else. The themes that go through my shows will continue to."Some of this content carried over to the clothes themselves, either literally or in their aura. But in general their distinguishing features were beauty; a sense of craft; a strong, confident silhouette; and the marriage of tradition with the avant-garde.

Dress Made From Cigarette buds to Raise Awareness.

Flore Garcia Bour, a 22-year-old student, is creating a dress made entirely from discarded cigarette butts. A Parisian designer is creating a dress made entirely from discarded cigarette butts.
Flore Garcia Bour, a 22-year-old student, is picking up butts by the hundreds from the streets and stitching them into a dress in an effort to make a statement about the amount of litter the tobacco produces.
"I have always been revolted by the number of butts dropped on our streets while it would be simple to change habits and to put them into a rubbish bin," she told Agence France-Presse.
She also wants to call attention to the fact that the butts take a long time to decompose.
"I hope my dress shocks smokers and plays a role in making them more aware of the damage they do by throwing their butts away that degrade in 18 months at best or 12 years at worst."
The dress, which she has just recently finished, won’t smell as foul as the cigarette butts from which they’re made. Bour treated them before they were stitched into the dress to ward off the smell.

Suri Cruise, 5 years old, makes her own fashion statement!

The daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes,She may not be quite old enough to dress herself but still, she has been spotted sporting a $850 Salvatore Ferragamo purse, Ray Ban sunglasses, Marc Jacobs shoes and a Burberry coat.

Holmes has often spoken of her precocious princess's love of style – and Anna Wintour-esque eye for fashion flaws.

"She'll really tell me [what she thinks]," Holmes, 32, says in the February issue of Elle magazine. "Like today I'm wearing brown suede pants, and she said, 'I don't like your pants.'"

But sometimes, Suri is kind and offers her mother praise – when her fashion choices merit it.
Suri Cruise, 5, beat out Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole Richie and other style divas for UK Best Dressed List.

A magnitude 9.0 earthquake hit northern Japan on March 11, starting tsunamis that caused widespread devastation and damaged a nuclear power plant. 43 people died in hospitals because of failed medical care since the earthquake and tsunami.. Power outages and lack of heat and medical supplies are cited as reasons for the deaths. Japan's National Police Agency says 9,811 people are dead, 17, 541 are missing as of 9 p.m. Thursday night. The amount of radioactive iodine in Tokyo's tap water dropped considerably in a test Thursday morning, down to a level that would be considered safe for infants to drink, the city's government said.

The crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, damaged after the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, has given a fresh urgency, she says, to a medical problem of vast dimensions, highlighted reports that emerge daily on the spread of radiation. A pediatrician, Caldicott came from her native Australia to become an instructor on the faculty of Harvard Medical School, where she specialized in the treatment of cystic fibrosis at the Children's Hospital Medical Center. She soon helped revive the moribund Physicians for Social Responsibility, a health organization dedicated to halting the proliferation and use of nuclear weapons and nuclear power.

Chanel rocks The Runway.

Models presented creations by German designer Karl Lagerfeld for French fashion house Chanel during Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday. the Chanel show this morning and seeing the floor covered in black pebbles and smoking rocks, people immediately began guessing the source of Karl Lagerfeld’s inspired set. The Icelandic volcanic? A meteor strike and the end of fashion as we know it? Personally, I favored a spa in Hawaii. Temperatures have finally warmed up here.
In the end, after seeing a dozen or so male and female models file down the winding, misty boardwalk, I settled upon “Lord of the Rings.” It seemed good imagery for Mr. Lagerfeld’s dark palette (as in, black and gray with ivory) brightened occasionally with deep red, a silvery gray or watery blue.
But the clothes were resolutely contemporary, more masculine than froufrou Chanel. For day, he essentially offered soft, wide-leg trousers (worn inside flat lace-up boots with attached rib-knit cuffs) or short skirts layered over dark stretch jeans. Jackets have a double look—a cropped forest green boucle jacket, say, over a lightweight charcoal blazer. The stretch jeans (or leggings, if you like) appeared in his January couture show as well. He also had great tunics, as capes and long pullovers. Capped shoulders, tunics, and some high necklines vaguely suggested a medieval influence.

Highlights in Harlem.

A dress worn by Celia Cruz is one of the many items in Apollo Theater exhibit.

bright beautiful dresses worn by Ceclia Cruz, Ella Fitzgerald and The Supremes; Cab Calloway's shoes and Louis Armstrong's trumpet are just some of the many items being showcased.Harlem has been a place music, fashion and literature for years now. it has inspired many people to go out and expereience the world and what it has for us people. Harlem has been a true role model for some young celebrities and for many of us children still living in the borough.

Lots and lots of Fish.

Millions of dead anchovies floating are seen in a marina in Redondo Beach, south of Los Angeles, Calif., Tuesday morning.

Millions of dead anchovies floating Tuesday morning in the harbor at Redondo Beach just south of Los Angeles, stopping up boat lines and confusing many bystanders and city officials. The many reasons for the sudden deaths are unknown. Initial tests found decreased oxygen levels, which could point to a "red tide" of plankton or an algae infestation. Do to the mass animal deaths over the past months, alot of people are begining to think these are signs of the apocalypse.
On New Years Day, thousands of dead birds were found covering the streets and rooftops of beebe, ark. while a similar phenomenon was also discovered in Kentucky and Louisiana. Massive fish deaths were reported in Maryland's chesapake bay and in Brazil. An estimated 40,000 dead crabs also washed up on beaches in England in January.

Why Monogamy Matters.

Premarital Sex
premartial sex in the eyes of the readers, is not what our society should really look over because many of us suffer from it. and by many of us , i mean women because we tend to have more emotions toward any situation that we are in, unlike men we can not just have sexual contact without any "strings attached". people with multiple partners, in the readers point of view are not terrible and is against the will of God and maybe some others religion, but in order for people to understand that premartial sex is the killer of many because of the STD's and AID's that can be passed around due to promiscuous people, they have to experience it for themselves to see what that lifestyle really has in store for them. teenagers expereince this the most do to the peer presure and drug and alcohol abuse.

Monogamy
monogamy is what your basic married couple is. settled, one partner and wont commit idolatry, the reader should believe in monogamy because its what our society should be living, and what the adult should be teaching the young to understand. monogamy is what God whats us to acutally go about. in the readers eyes, the topic should affect their choice in life because doesnt everyone what the perfect life without problems and/or  disease that can ruin or end their life before they can enjoy it.

John Galliano John Galliano Christain Dior's star designer, will stand trial for allegedly making anti-Semitic comments in Paris last week. he made a remark that turned heads and changed ideas. working for fashion house Dior the empire didn't want to take their chances. his trial will take place later on in the year. his comment was believed to be racist, but Galliano Denys every part of it but after He was dismissed by fashion house Dior on Tuesday after footage was given to authorities, of a separate incident in which he was shown telling two women in a cafe: "I love Hitler". which is why the people deny his plead of being innocent.

Newyork Times Said;

The firing of Mr. Galliano, 50 a one-time punk stylist whose soaring imagination helped turn Dior into a multimillion-dollar brand, was the expected culmination of one of the strangest episodes in recent fashion history. Last Friday, Dior suspended Mr. Galliano after he was accused by two people of making an anti-Semitic comment on Thursday night in the same Marais district bar.

My Oppion;
Mr. Galliano shouldnt have said anything about anyone. all comments in a work place, or a place of business should be kept to themselves.

Portfolio Assesment

Blog #17 12/22/10I chose this because it reflects how I also talk about social issues in our communities and how fashion statements can help you ruin or boost your career in the real world. In this blog I think I was very realistic with my option on how, your attire can say a lot about you.
Blog #11 12/9/10I chose this blog because it explains my how my eye for fashion expands across the world, and how I review others opinion and their take on the fashion industry.
Blog #3 11/30/10 I chose this blog because Marilyn Monroe had a huge impact on fashion and music in her time she even has a big fashion icon now in the new millennium.
Blog #2 11/29/10I chose this blog because lady gaga really inspires me to be more unpredictable and expand my thought on fashion. Fashion is not only in clothes it is in everything

Blog# 6 12/2/10I chose this blog because Coco Chanel really influenced the world with her simple but elegant thinking process that started with one black dress and an idea.

My strengths as a writer is, the ability to understand and have a thinking process on how the world works and what it’s looking for in humanity itself. I don’t limit myself of to only my own options but listen to what the people are interested in and what they really don’t care about.

My weaknesses as a writer is, my thought towards some things that most fashion bloggers talk about and how it affects my thought on all of my decisions. I need to improve on making my own decisions

My blogs demonstrate that I am very interested in the fashion world and  want to go into a career in  this field, as a student it reflects that I have the ability to achieve my goals as an educated learner.

The Transformation From Old To New.

Jacqueline Kennedy the creator of the "Jackie Look" which had a huge impact on the 1961 era. her look was a fashion
The "Jackie" Look
A unique fashion personality, with her unadorned chic and breathless good looks, Mrs. John F. Kennedy, America's youthful new First Lady, had a sensational effect on the fashion world. Throughout the nation in 1961 women were copying the bouffant coiffure, little pillbox bat, and sleeveless "little nothing" dress style she had made famous

Opulence for Evening
The season's evening gowns were slim but not strained. Often, they were reminiscent of the Thirties, as in the Bill Blass design for Maurice Rentner, featuring cowl neck and lush sable trim on the stole, in taupe silk crepe.

Much in evidence was glitter, used with light textures, as in the pailleted silk gauze by Roxanne of Samuel Winston.

Coats stepped to the fore in 1961, dominating the dresses they covered, as in the nubby magenta for spring, by Christian Dior of New York.

Daytime Shapes
The straight, sleeveless shift favored by Jacqueline Kennedy made dramatic fashion news in 1961. From the extreme lines of Donald Brooks' design for Townley

Her look is still used today in some fashion statements but spiced up a bit. her style is very unique and different but modern day users normally wear newer designs that have her "touch" like reality superstars Katy Perry
