Cozumel, Mexico; A place to die for!
My trip to Cozumel Mexico was very exciting, I traveled there on a cruise ship that also went to Keywest and Miami in Florida, Jamaica, and Barbados. I learned about Cozumel’s currency which is peso’s, there economy, traditions, agriculture, and there geography and the people.
Here's a little bit of history from the country; Cozumel (Mayan: Island of the Swallows) (Kùutsmil in Modern Maya) is an island in the Caribbean Sea off the eastern coast of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, opposite Playa del Carmen, and close to the Yucatan Channel. Cozumel is one of the nine municipalities (municipios) of the state of Quintana Roo. Cozumel is a tourist destination for its scuba diving and snorkeling. The main town on the island is San Miguel de Cozumel
The Maya are believed to have first settled Cozumel by the early part of the 1st millennium AD, and older Preclassic Olmec artifacts have been found on the island as well. The island was sacred to Ix Chel, the Maya Moon Goddess, and the temples here were a place of pilgrimage, especially by women desiring fertility. There are a number of ruins on the island, most from the Post-Classic period. The largest Maya ruins on the island were bulldozed to make way for an airplane runway during World War II. The ruins of San Gervasio are located approximately at the center of the island and are the largest remaining ruins.
The first Spanish visitor was Juan de Grijalva in 1518 , and in the following year Hernán Cortés came with a fleet and destroyed many Maya temples. Some 40,000 Mayans lived on the island then, but the smallpox disease devastated them, and by 1570 only 30 were left alive. In the ensuing years Cozumel was nearly deserted, just used as a hideout by pirates from time to time. In 1848, the Caste War of Yucatán resulted in resettlement by refugees escaping the tumult. A plaque at the Museo Cozumel states that Abraham Lincoln as the American President came close to purchasing the island of Cozumel as a place to send the freed slaves. The continued war in the Yucatan caused him to change his mind.
There are two universities on the island: the University of Quintana Roo and Partenon. In addition to teaching English as a degree, they offer five other career options including natural resources research, tourism and commercial systems.Cozumel is part of the State of Quintana Roo (Q-Roo). The Municipality of Cozumel consists of the island of Cozumel (with its offshore islets) and two pieces of adjacent mainland surrounded by the Municipality of Solidaridad. They are Calica and the Xel-Há Water Park.
Festival of El Cedral in Cozumel
To this day a historic festival is held in the small town of El Cedral, in the south of Cozumel Island at the end of April. This annual event is said to have been started over 150 years ago by Casimiro Cárdenas.
Cárdenas was one of a group that fled to the island from the village of Saban, on the mainland, after an attack during the War of the Castes. The attackers killed many other villagers, but Cárdenas survived whilst clutching a small wooden cross.
Legend has it that Cárdenas vowed to start an annual festival wherever he settled, to honor the religious power of this crucifix. Today, the original Holy Cross Festival forms part of the wider Festival of El Cedral, which includes fairs, traditional feasts, rodeos, bullfights, music and competitions. The celebrations last about 5 days in all and are held every year at the end of April or beginning of May.
In conclusion my trip to Mexico was a good experience because I learned a lot of new things and have a different sight on this back at my home, in Mexico is not the same as the U.S. and our customs, they believe in different ways of life.

Ben & Jerry's Icecream & Frozen Yogurt
Ben & jerry's is one of the best creamery's i 've been too (aside from coldstone)
A Crazy Concoction of Chocolate Ice Cream and Vanilla Ice Cream Mixed with Fudge Brownies and Gobs of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough!!!!
Brownie mixed with cookie dough...I honestly didn't know about how that this flavor would play out. In my mind I wasn't sure if the textures would mix; fudgey brownie mixed with gritty cookie dough. The top layer of ice cream was medium brown in color with fudge specks then marbling below the surface. The chocolate flavor from Ben & Jerry's never lets you down and the vanilla is understated in this blend. Nice large pieces of cookie dough (referred to as gobs) were in every other bite. The texture was comparable to the "Ready to Bake" cookie dough provided in the grocery store. I did not however find very many fudgey bits. When I did find one, it was very gooey and fudgey; very tasty. I was not impressed with the amount of brownie, but pleased with the amount of cookie dough. This flavor played out as "middle of the road" for me.

american Idol Censors Gaga's Outrageous Footwear.
Her black leather boots, made by the British label Void of Course, feature a sky high platform and a pair of anatomically correct explicit heels. The show's producers had to strategically place the "American Idol" logo to cover the shoes' naughty bits. The heels aren't the only thing that's eyebrow raising about the shoes – the shoes reportedly retail for $4,500, according to TMZ. Lady Gaga has been a fan of the fetish-inspired brand since 2010, when she was spotted in the brand's spiked, rubber ensembles. in my own oppion i think its original and different no one has ever thought about it and now everyones talking about it. it's the little things that make people see what fashion and differentially is!
Alexander McQueen's legendary Fashion Statements

Alexander McQueen, a British fashion designer, was found dead at his London home on Feb. 11, 2010. A coroner's inquest said he hanged himself in an armoire, on the eve of his mother's funeral, after leaving behind a note. He was 40 years old. Mr. McQueen was a showman with very high expectations for fashion. He knew how to cut a dress, a jacket and a pair of pants with the best of them, but that was not enough for him. He also wanted fashion to have weight and content and depth, so he put on presentations - spectacles, really - of his collections that aimed to have the punch of art and that were sometimes political, sociological, shocking and scary. ''I believe in depicting what's going on," he once said. "I'm a big anarchist. I don't believe in religion, or in another human being wanting to govern over someone else. The themes that go through my shows will continue to."Some of this content carried over to the clothes themselves, either literally or in their aura. But in general their distinguishing features were beauty; a sense of craft; a strong, confident silhouette; and the marriage of tradition with the avant-garde.
Dress Made From Cigarette buds to Raise Awareness.
A Parisian designer is creating a dress made entirely from discarded cigarette butts. Flore Garcia Bour, a 22-year-old student, is picking up butts by the hundreds from the streets and stitching them into a dress in an effort to make a statement about the amount of litter the tobacco produces.
"I have always been revolted by the number of butts dropped on our streets while it would be simple to change habits and to put them into a rubbish bin," she told Agence France-Presse.
She also wants to call attention to the fact that the butts take a long time to decompose.
"I hope my dress shocks smokers and plays a role in making them more aware of the damage they do by throwing their butts away that degrade in 18 months at best or 12 years at worst."
The dress, which she has just recently finished, won’t smell as foul as the cigarette butts from which they’re made. Bour treated them before they were stitched into the dress to ward off the smell.

Suri Cruise, 5 years old, makes her own fashion statement!
The daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes,She may not be quite old enough to dress herself but still, she has been spotted sporting a $850 Salvatore Ferragamo purse, Ray Ban sunglasses, Marc Jacobs shoes and a Burberry coat.
Holmes has often spoken of her precocious princess's love of style – and Anna Wintour-esque eye for fashion flaws.
"She'll really tell me [what she thinks]," Holmes, 32, says in the February issue of Elle magazine. "Like today I'm wearing brown suede pants, and she said, 'I don't like your pants.'"
But sometimes, Suri is kind and offers her mother praise – when her fashion choices merit it.
